What is the background behind the Hanes T-shirt that Sarah Chalke designed?
Sarah Chalke’s specially-designed pink Hanes T-shirt includes the words “courage and strength” over her signature and features pink hearts alongside the iconic breast cancer awareness ribbon. The T-shirt was inspired by her personal connection to breast cancer, which includes her long-term friendship with survivor Geralyn Lucas, the author of Why I Wore Lipstick to my Mastectomy. The book was actually adapted into the Lifetime movie in which Sarah stars. Sarah also lost both her aunt and grandmother to cancer after courageous battles.
