What Is The Average Yearly Temperature Of The Scilly Isles?
An archipelago of five islands all inhabited and numerous rocky islets, the isles of Scilly are about 28 miles from Land’s end in South Western England. The seas surrounding the islands have the highest average temperature, which is close to 11 to 12 degree centigrade. The islands have beautiful white beaches and sub-tropical plants. Since they lie in the path of the warm Gulf Stream current of the Atlantic, the isles are warmer than other places situated on the same latitude. With a population of about two thousand people, it is also a heaven for migrating birds and a favorite spot for bird watching. The islands have places of great contrast too. Tresco is rocky and wild on its northern shore which is shaped by Atlantic gales, while Abbey Gardens flourish nearby on its sheltered southern side. Abbey Gardens have a variety of Southern Hemisphere plants.
