one company is going to differ greatly from another in a lot of ways – steadiness and access to freight is important as this is what keeps the wheels turning, and this keeps the money coming in so your income will likely vary based upon the company you drive for $700-$800/wk is probably a fairly reasonable figure – sometimes less, sometimes more pay will be based on anywhere from .32 – .42/mile (probably mid-30’s) (but come to think of it, i started out in the mid-20’s per mile – so you’ve often got to suck it up at first) unless you know someone personally in the industry, starting out, you’ll likely have to sign on with one of the big 4 trucking companies – Werner, J.B.
