What is the average turnaround time to get a copy of something already filed with the Secretary of State?

A. The average turnaround time for California is 7-9 business days to get a copy of most documents already on file with the Sec. of State, however, to retrieve a good standing/status certificate, the state has a priority section for these and the turn around time in California is 1-3 business days. This time can vary during the year, as there are peak busy times at the Secretary of State. Sometimes it can take longer than the expected turnaround time, and sometimes we can receive back the documents very quickly (within a couple business days). We cannot guarantee turnaround times, but we keep track every day as to how long it is taking requests to be completed. Please inquire with our staff for all other worldwide jurisdictions.
