What is the average price range for prom dresses?
Prices for prom dresses vary almost as much as the dresses themselves. You can find great deals at places like David’s Bridal & Prom, which has $99 specials a lot, on prom and wedding dresses. I found one for my daughter on a clearance rack last year at Marshall Field’s for $30 and it was gorgeous. Several of my daughter’s friends are looking at dresses that are running anywhere from $120 to $300, which is about average. For those people on a very tight budget though, you can also find prom dresses at some Thrift Stores such as Salvation Army for under $40, surprisingly enough. I assume that a lot of those are just like the dresses we have in our closets here – worn once.
