What is the average income for each income decile in the UK?
By definition, the average income for each income decile is somewhere around half-way between the upper and lower limits of the decile, but from the form of your question I don’t think you really understand what a decile is. We start with a range, in this case of incomes, and divide it into 10 groups. Say the range is from £0 to £200000, then the first decile is £0-20000, the second £20000-40000, and so on. The problem with your question is that we first have to decide what the range is. If we include the few millionaires, we shall have to make the top of the range something like £10 million, which makes the first decile £0-1 million, which is virtually everyone in the country. This becomes a meaningless exercise I suggest you go away and look and some national income distribution statistics. You can then frame a range of incomes of interest to you and after that start asking questions. Edit, sorry chaps, income deciles are just that, the range of incomes evenly divided into 10 groups.
