A guideline undergraduate GPA for the last two years is 3.0 (B) on a 4-point scale for application to a master’s or doctoral program. A guideline graduate GPA is 6.0 (B+) on a 9-point scale for application to a doctoral program. A master’s degree is not required for admission to a doctoral program. For MA programs, the guideline score for the General Test of the GRE a score of 500 on the verbal and quantitative sections, and a score of 4.5 on the writing section. For PhD programs, the guideline score for the General Test of the GRE a score of 600 on the verbal and quantitative sections, and a score of 5.0 on the writing section.
