Having said that I have been a road warrior domestically and internationally. I cannot count the number of times I have been delayed. If I took the trouble to pursue each case, I might be a rich man today… 🙂 Compensation is usually in the form of a voucher for a future flight if they are overbooked or if there is a significant delay. I have been put up overnight when I was grounded due to severe thunderstorms. With my luck it was NWO in Minneapolis, so I spent a couple hours in some non-descript airport motel at their expense. If you really want to take the time to do this, draft a really professional yet firm letter to the CEO of Lufthansa. They have a very good reputation. They should make some form of recompense.
