What is the average day for a jail inmate?
Inmates are awakened each morning at about 7:30 AM, at which time they are provided with cold breakfast. On Monday-Friday of each week, inmates have daily recreation time for a minimum of one hour. Recreation is held either indoors or outdoors, depending upon weather and other considerations. Inmates are required to keep their cells clean. Inmates receive clean clothing and linens on a regular schedule. At approximately 11:30 AM, inmates are fed a hot meal. Inmates also spend time reading, watching television, and playing cards or board games approved by the Sheriff. At approximately 5:30 AM, inmates are fed a supper meal, which usually consists of cold meat sandwiches. All meals are catered to the jail by a local restaurant.
