What is the Average Cost of an International Adoption?
International adoption, on average, costs more than a domestic adoption, due in part to the high travel costs. According to a 2008 cost of adoption survey by Adoptive Families magazine, 92 percent of international adoptions cost the families more than $20,000, while 43 percent of domestic adoptions cost less than $20,000.
