What is the average cost of 1 kwh (unit) of domestic electricity in the UK?

The average cost for a standard domestic user in UK is about 12.5p per KWh. If you have an economy seven account with storage heaters that heat up at low cost times of the night then you might get away with paying only 6.5p per KWh. Commercial users pay about 1 pence more per Kwh. If you want to buy “green” energy which comes from varifiable green sources then there is a premium of about 20-30% on top. The UK market has been derugulated and it is now possible to purchase electricity from many diffeent companies. This means that you need to be very careful because many of the suppliers will advertise very attractive rates but then after a few months they slowly increase them and you will find that a couple of years later you are paying 25% more. this is very sneaky and should in my opinion be against the law.
