They can be done as young as 8 weeks, but unlike a farm pig they need to be done by a vet while they are knocked out with ISO Fluorine gas, not an indictable. Most vets have ISO fluorine but check first. There is a good article with some pictures that my vet gave me to post on my web page that you might want to take with you to your vet if he is not familiar with potbellied pigs.
