What is the available balance shown in SCU Online?
For checking accounts, the available balance is the posted balance, minus any holds, ATM withdrawals or Visa check card holds. It does not reflect funds from your overdraft protection, either savings or overdraft line of credit, or both. Those funds are still available to you by direct transfer from the appropriate account and still provide automatic overdraft protection for you. For savings accounts, the available balance also subtracts the $5 held for your credit union membership.
