What is the autonomic nervous system and how does it work?
Ninety percent of the bodys functions are controlled by the Autonomic Nervous System. It has two branches called Sympathetic and Parasympathetic Nervous Systems. They act as the brakes and gas do for an automobile. Sympathetic regulation is the Gas and Parasympathetic regulation is the Brakes. It is essential to have both in order to run the vehicle appropriately, safely and efficiently. If too much Gas (Stress) is used, the vehicle becomes overcharged. Apply too much brakes (relaxation) and the system becomes sluggish. This metaphor works in a simplified manner to express how the autonomic nervous system functions in the body. How is inner balance measured? The Inner Balance Scan provides very accurate assessment of the autonomic nervous systems state of balance by measuring the hearts rhythmic patterns (Heart Rate Variability). A five-minute recording of the pulse wave with a simple ear-clip optical sensor is all that’s needed to immediately receive an accurate assessment of the symp
