The Authoring Server Monitor is your view into the Authoring Server process (application). It allows you to see if the server is running and allows the Administrator to execute a number of commands to maintain, update, or change the Authoring Server settings. One of the best commands is the DatabaseCacheSize setting which allows you to change the default amount of memory allocated to the Authoring Server (provided you have enough memory) thereby significantly increasing the performance of the Authoring Server.
