What is the Australian Red Cross, South Australia Transport service?
The Red Cross Transport service enables people who have no access to other means of transportation to attend medical appointments. There is also limited transport available for people to attend social and family occasions. The Transport service operates across the Adelaide metropolitan area, as well as in the South East Country and Eyre Peninsula regions, with regional offices located in Mt Gambier and Pt Lincoln. The regional offices operate as Community Passenger Networks, coordinating transport services in the region. The Community Passenger Network also provides transport information and transport for isolated clients to access services. Last year, our dedicated team of over 350 volunteers provided more than 35,000 transport trips across South Australia, enabling people to gain access to medical appointments that they otherwise would not have been able to attend.
