What is the Australian Government Digital Switchover Labelling Scheme?

0

This Scheme has been established for suppliers, as part of the Australian Government’s measures to help consumers identify digital products and services. Under the Scheme, suppliers who supply televisions, set top boxes and digital TV recorders to Australia can register to use the Australian Government Get Ready for Digital TV labels on their products. Participating suppliers test all television receivers they supply to Australia, against the Scheme’s requirements. Digital television receivers must meet the Australian Standard for Digital Receivers AS4933 and all television receivers must meet basic connectivity requirements as determined through industry consultation. Once a product is tested, certified and registered with the Scheme, it can be labelled and included in the searchable database of qualified products on this website. This database can be reviewed below. Participation in the Scheme is voluntary and suppliers are not required to pay any fee to join or participate.
