What is the attitude on vintage watches and in particular Rolex and Tudor watches?
The popularity of the 2 brands are not by mistake nor hype. I have owned many vintage watches, but the only brand of watches that I feel comfortable in wearing as my daily watch is still a Rolex. I dont care if it is a Patek or some outlandishly expensive watch; Rolex is still my choice. It is built like a tank and runs perfectly if regularly serviced. However if your talking modern wristwatches. My take on this subject is that they are all rip offs. In the modern day of manufacturing , the aspect of precision manufacturing is not such a huge thing to achieve with modern day CNCs. Why should a Rolex be 10 times more than some others, my opinion is that it is pure branding.
