What is the Assistant Principal Pipeline (APP)?
The Assistant Principal Pipeline project is created to establish a unified approach to building a pool of qualified candidates interested in leading the HISD schools at the Assistant Principal (AP) and Dean levels. Pre-qualifying candidates through various levels of screening prepares HR and hiring administrators to fill leadership vacancies proactively. The APP project creates a pool of exceptional candidates ready to transition smoothly and expediently into Assistant Principal and Dean vacancies, thereby reducing school campus disruption. After vigorous screening and acceptance into the pool, the APP candidate must ultimately be selected for a specific position by the Principal that oversees the school where the vacancy exists. Assistant Principal and Dean Pipeline candidates must meet minimum requirements (as listed on job descriptions), but should also be proven highly motivated and energized, reform-minded leaders who qualify to mentor and coach district teachers and campus staff,
