What is the ASPIRE trial?
The full name of the ASPIRE trial is the “AutoPulse Assisted Pre-hospital International Resuscitation Trial (ASPIRE)”. The ASPIRE study is a multi-centered trial comparing mechanical chest compressions using the AutoPulse to standard manual chest compressions. The trial involves five sites in the United States and Canada. The Coordinating Center for this trial is located at the University of Washington. The primary outcome of this study is survival at four hours. All patients with non-traumatic cardiac arrest will be eligible for enrollment. The study should take two years to complete.
