What is the Ashtabula Community Advisory Panel?
Several Ashtabula area companies and residents are working to foster communications between industry and its neighbors. The Ashtabula Community Advisory Panel (CAP) was formed in April 1994 as a forum for open discussion between representatives from the companies and those living in the surrounding communities. The companies are ASHTA Chemicals, FirstEnergy Generation Group, Gabriel Performance Products, Praxair and Millennium Chemicals-Ashtabula Complex. Community members represent Ashtabula City, Village of North Kingsville, and the townships of Ashtabula, Kingsville, Pierpoint, Plymouth, Saybrook and Sheffield. The panel meets monthly to discuss issues of interest to the citizens and the companies. The Community Advisory Panel concept is part of an initiative by industry nationwide.
