What is the ASA Bat Certification Program?
Under ASA Playing Rule 3, Section 1, any bat used in ASA Championship Play must contain an appropriate certification mark (except wood bats). The ASA certification mark is placed on bats under the terms of a standard contract between ASA and a participating bat manufacturer. That standard contract provides the terms and conditions that a bat manufacturer must follow before one of their products can receive the ASA certification mark. Every bat model must comply with the ASA Bat Performance Standard before those bats can receive certification marks.
