Estimate: If the arrival date is unknown an estimate can be filled in. Use DD-MM-YYYY (Day-Month-Year). Date 23-6-2008 with estimate M02 means the animal arrived between 23-4-2008 and 23-8-2008, so a time span of 4 months total, spanning 2 months to each side of the given date. If no real estimate can be done, than fill in a estimate date and use the letter U. When running reports the animal will show up with Unknown as acquisition date. Acquisition Type: How did the specimen arrive at your institution? Acquisition of: Does your institution have legal rights over the specimen? Example: If an animal is in On Loan and your institution only has the physical animal but no legal rights, you would fill in physical specimen only.
