What is the arrangement for Production Centers in West Bengal?
In 1990, barely anyone in the villages of West Bengal’s Medinipur district had household latrines. But just a decade later, roughly 80 per cent of these families possessed latrines in east Mednipur District- reducing disease and making Medinipur a role model for other parts of India. The Production Center model adopted in Mednipur is replicated in other parts of West Bengal. In TSC districts of West Bengal, the PCs are set up by NGOs.
