What is the Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS)?
Records are to be properly managed from its creation through its final disposition. AR 25-400-2, The Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS) governs the maintenance and disposition of Army records. The ARIMS website (https://www.arims.army.mil/arimsnet/site/aersmain.aspx) is the method by which Army personnel capture, preserve, and manage hardcopy/electronic records more efficiently and effectively. ARIMS uses web-based tools and technology to provide enhanced capabilities for the identification of records, the indexing and storage of long-term and permanent records, and the tracking and retrieval of records stored in Army Records Holding Areas (RHAs) or in the Army Electronic Archive (AEA). The AEA module of ARIMS provides large-scale, secure storage for the Armys long-term and permanent emails and other electronic records. ARIMS is for use by registered Records Administrators, Records Managers, RHA Managers, Records Coordinators, and Action Officers.
