What is the appropriate way to wear my boyfriends class ring?
The traditional manner of wearing a class ring from a US service academy from where the class rings are started is to wear it on the ring finger of the left hand which is also used for the weding ring. So many times, this class ring is worn on the ring finger of the right hand with the insignia facing the wearer when the arm of ring is streched. There can be a possible exchange of these class rings between a boyfriend and girlfriend.
You can wear it on a chain or on your right hand. If you wear it on your hand, you will probably need to wrap some thread around the bottom of the ring and seal the thread with clear fingernail polish so that it will fit. If you break up, remember to remove the polish and thread. It’s easier to just take it off a chain if you break up.
Hi, When I wore a boyfriends class ring, wearing on the finger was way out for me, as his ring was to big, and looked really bad, was a size 13, and I had very tiny fingers,I would have needed a ball of yarn to make it fit…..So I wore on a nice chain on my neck.. Nothing wrong with tradition, but sometimes it may not look or feel right………m And I agree the guys wore the girl friends ring on their pinky finger, of the left hand…
