What is the approach of the State Health Information Exchange Cooperative Agreement Program?
ONC will identify, through a merit-based review, states or qualified State Designated Entities (SDEs) to promote health information exchange (HIE) and enter into cooperative agreements with successful applicants. Under this type of award, ONC will work with each state or SDE in a collaborative way to develop and implement activities that will advance the long-term goal of nationwide HIE and interoperability.
