What is the application/selection process for PPIP in D.C.?
Interested students must first complete an application, which consists of an application form, cover letter, résumé, essay, letters of recommendation, and an official transcript. PPIP reserves the right to make initial selections based on paper applications to determine interview eligibility. The PPIP selection committee will review each student’s application and interview to select qualified applicants. Once selected, students work in conjunction with the PPIP staff to apply for internships. Potential internship sites review candidate materials, conduct interviews, and may offer an internship. Students then select and confirm their internship placement. For more information about the application/selection process click here. PPIP does not guarantee an internship placement; however, we have never had a student not secure an internship. Students who have already secured an internship may also apply to PPIP for free housing, training, and support.
