What is the application process for a winter access road?
If a permit holdery wishes to utilize an existing winter access they would be required to submit a road permit application. After reviewing the application, the Commission may authorize the temporary occupation of Crown land under a Land Act tenure. The former process of only submitting a Water Act section 9 application to cover off stream crossings along a winter access road no longer suffices. The Road and Applications Manual under Part 5 Block identifies the road type associated with a road application and includes temporary winter access. Stream and waterbody crossing information is also required on the application form.
