What is the appearance of Radiata?
* Radiata timber is generally straight grained. Its sapwood is pale coloured, while the heartwood is generally pinky-brown. It is unique in its uniform density, meaning that there is little contrast in the appearance of the growth rings relative to other pines. This gives Radiata a relatively even and uniform texture and thus excellent machining, painting, and staining properties. It also has good qualities for accepting a wide variety of paints.
