What is the annual salary of the new general manager at the Wilmington Convention Center?

0

Susan Eaton, the general manager of the Wilmington Convention Center, declined to give her salary, saying she works for a private company, which doesn’t disclose that information. Eaton works for SMG, a Philadelphia-based company that manages about 200 public facilities in numerous cities. According to the city of Wilmington’s 2010-2011 budget, $2,179,010 is slated for the operation of the convention center. The budget assumes the facility will be operational Nov. 1, 2010. Money for the convention center comes from a 3 percent hotel room occupancy tax created in 2003, according to city spokeswoman Malissa Talbert. The budget includes funding for eight months of personnel expenses related to food and beverage operations, administrative costs, parking and utilities, according to the city’s website. The operations costs also pay SMG to manage the facility and the Convention and Visitors Bureau for marketing. Date posted: August 2, 2010 User-contributed question by: Dennis E.
