All participants are required to complete three formal steps of the Performance Management annual cycle: Goal Setting, Mid-Year Check-In, and Year-end Evaluation. In addition, supervisors are required to assist their employees through this process and evaluate their progress at the end of the year. It is strongly recommended that employees and supervisors take this opportunity to create and nurture an ongoing conversation, rather than use these milestones as the only time to think about performance. Supervisors should provide guidance so employees understand what is expected of them and flexibility so creativity and strengths are utilized.
