What is the annual deductible?
This is the amount that a beneficiary must pay before Medicare pays anything. For 2009, the annual deductible for Part B (physician) services is $135. This is the same as for 2008. (For 2007, it was $131). This will increase annually based on the annual growth in the government’s cost of providing Part B services to beneficiaries. After the deductible is satisfied, you’ll only have to pay 20 % of the allowed amount, called co-insurance.
