What is the Animal Rescue Center? What services does it provide?
An animal rescue center comes in and takes animals that are not being fed, watered or given approriate shelter. Any animal that is abused will be taken and given everything they need to recooperate. Food, shelter and water just to name a couple. The animal rescue will nurse the animal back to health and begin human interaction in hopes of giving the animal a second chance as new ownership.
Animal Rescue Center is a 501c3 non-profit agency founded by Jennifer Gilson, Executive Director of Sonora Veterinary Hospital. Jennifer was moved by the suffering she witnessed at the county animal control facilities. She began Animal Rescue Center initially to help injured stray animals at Animal Care & Control that would otherwise have had no hope of rehabilitation. That vision soon expanded to include all kinds of dogs and cats in need and to the creation of the Animal Rescue Center’s Spay/Neuter program designed to stop over-population before it starts.
