What is the amount of the New York State driver responsibility assessment?
If you are convicted in New York State of a DWI, DWAI or DWAI drugs or if you refuse a chemical test, the annual assessment is $250.00 for three consecutive years ($750.00 total). If you receive six points on your driver record during a period of 18 months, the annual assessment is $100.00 for three consecutive years ($300.00 total). If you receive more than six points on your driver record during a period of 18 months, the annual assessment includes an additional $25.00 for each point more than the original six points.
