Grants of $10,000 per ICN site are available. Districts with multiple sites are eligible for $10,000 X the total number of ICN sites within the district. What may the funds be used for? Eligible expenditures include the following: • Staff development regarding implementation of technology and telecommunications in various content areas. Examples may include: basic ICN video classroom training; ICN room manager training; integrating technology into subject areas such as mathematics, science, reading, foreign languages, etc. Of special focus is staff development in further use of Star Schools-sponsored content. • Development by teachers of technology-based curriculum applications. • Specialized equipment enhancements for ICN video classrooms, local area networks, and other equipment supporting integration of educational technology so that students may take full advantage of curriculum funded by the Star Schools project. • Instructional software used in classrooms.
