The American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research is a private, not-for-profit institution dedicated to research and education on issues of governance, international relations, economics, and social welfare. AEI’s mission is to preserve and strengthen the foundations of freedom and democratic capitalism–limited government, private enterprise, individual liberty and responsibility, vigilant and effective defense and foreign policies, and political accountability–through scholarly research, open debate, and publications.
