The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) is the fraternal organization that represents the life insurance industry. The ACLI takes positions on issues in support of individual companies and lobbies on behalf of the industry. The ACLI has unsuccessfully lobbied in various states for legislation to limit the states from licensing new viatical and life settlement brokers and providers. Most recently they were not allowed to even sponsor similar proposed legislation in Nevada.
