The American Canine Association is a organization who keeps the Stud books (breeding records) of the dogs that are registered through them. A registry like the AKC, CKC does just that. Some, put on Shows like the AKC and APRI. At one point in America we did not have so many registries. What happened was too many people were sending in fraudulent papers to be registered. I know of a case where someone registered a table as a purebred dog through the AKC. There were enough complaints where as people were purchasing AKC registered dogs that were not even close to the breed on their registration papers. So AKC went to make some changes to prevent this in the future. Now who ever was running the club at the time blamed the wrong people. This caused a splinter within the club, and other registries were born. The American Canine Association was one of them. They are just like the rest, a company the keeps record of the pedigree of the dogs they register through them. No registry can claim to
