The American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC) was formed in the late 1980s (in 1989) by groups of nurses around the country who realized that in working with law firms they had actually created a separate profession. The AALNC was formed to better coordinate the activities of LNCs, to improve and standardize their training, and to advocate for their new profession.
