To prevent misuse of drugs on people we care for i.e making sure the right doses are administered, that they are given to the right person at the right times and right route ie orally, injection etc.It is also there to protect the person giving the medication ie correct labelling, instructions etc also monitoring and making sure records are accurate legable and complete.
