What is the aim of this training session on Bordeaux wines?
It is good to know that a lot of people in India know what Bordeaux wine is all about, but this training session is an effort to remind people what Bordeaux is and give them the opportunity to understand the wine better. India is also a potential market for these wines. We really believe that education is the key for both trade and consumers and we would like Bordeaux to be part of the wine education. Similar trainings have been conducted successfully in China, Hong Kong and Singapore, so we thought it was time to look at India as a market, it has a huge potential. How will the training programme work for India? We are looking at people who have a certain amount of background in wines and are interested in being accredited tutors. Once accredited, the tutors will have to conduct minimum of six trainings sessions which are done at three different levels – Trade which includes distributors, retailers; freelancers who would train general public through tasting and selling; and hotels and
