What is the aim of the Package?
The Package is aimed at providing teachers with the knowledge and skills required to deliver consumer and financial literacy learning for students in accordance with the National Goals for Schooling – The Adelaide Declaration on National Goals for Schooling in the Twenty-first Century. • The package will be shaped by the MCEETYA Framework; • The package will support school leaders and teachers in implementing the Framework across the curriculum; • The package will be based on leading practice principles of professional learning; • The package will be based on the objectives of the 2006-2009 Australian Government Quality Teaching Programme (AGQTP) phase: • to equip teachers with the skills and knowledge needed for teaching in the 21st Century; • to provide national leadership in high priority areas of teacher professional learning need; and • to improve the professional standing of school teachers and leaders.
