The AHL (Australian Hockey League) is the premier competition in Australia with teams from all states and territories competing. This competition provides an important platform for players’ looking at a spot in the Australian teams. Queensland is represented by the OAMPS Queensland Blades in the men’s and the OAMPS Queensland Scorchers in the women’s. Both these teams have strong records in this competition with the Blades winning four out of the last five championships and the Scorchers winning in 2005 and runner’s up in 2006 and 2007.
