What is the Agile Manifesto?
In February of 2001 a number of people who had been using new approaches towards software development got together to talk about the similarities of their approaches and the differences between what Rational was proposing in terms of the Rational Unified Process. We found that we had a number of things in common and we documented those in terms of the Agile Manifesto: • Individuals and interactions over processes and tools • Working software over comprehensive documentation • Customer collaboration over contract negotiation • Responding to change over following a plan You can read more about the history of the Agile Manifesto here and there are also more articles at the Agile Alliance site.
