What is the age requirement to be a police officer?
California state law (Government Code, Section 1029 and 1031) requires a minimum age of 18. Almost all law enforcement departments require employees to be at least 21. If you have just graduated from high school, this would be an excellent time to make yourself more competitive by earning a degree at Humphreys College. For additional law enforcement age requirements, please review the Criminal Justice Educational Job Requirements chart.
