In Colorado, the required age to become a police officer is 21.

The minimum age in Ohio. Most departments used to have a maximum age of 35 (but if a case was presented to the civil service commission one could receive a waiver). However that has been ruled as age discrimination and eliminated. Now as long as you can pass the PAT it does not matter if you are older. The minimum is still 21 at the time of appointment.

In CT, you must be at least 21 at the start of your academy training. There is no maximum age restriction as long as you meet the physical fitness requirements.

As long as you have the proper education it doesnt matter your age. Normally anybody 22 or older has enough time to get the education.

In NY city they will take 6 years off of the age cut off for every year of active duty. Their cut off is 35 yrs. Here in the panhandle of Texas the age cut off is 44, it depends on where you plan to live after the military. God Bless you for wanting to continue to serve.
