Technology allows people to seclude themselves. Basically, a person could avoid most human contact by using the internet to order whatever he needs. Technology also destroys the environment. We’ve made cars that need highways, which causes habitat fragmentation or destruction. That kills of species. Also, cars use gas, which is a huge contributor to air pollution. Boats do similar things in the marine environment: pollute with gas, destroy important habitats like coral reefs or kelp forests by running into them or chopping them up. Industrialization weakens community bonds. We no longer rely on mom-and-pop type stores. Instead, we go to Costco, which is impersonal and sterile. Ironically, even though communication is faster via the internet/cellphones/etc, person-to-person real-life contact is going down the drain. Nuclear energy creates hazardous materials that are either released to the environment, causing habitat destruction and killing organisms, or stored until we know what to do
