What is the advantange of an Electronic Resume ?
– Studies show that many employers have problems in “opening” or “accessing” resumes which are sent as word attachments. The reason for such difficulties is the incompatability of computers and word processing programs. If the employer is not able to “open” your email attached resume, then studies also reveal that the employer does not review your resume, or follow up to obtain a compatible format of resume. With an “electronic resume”, you rarely if ever have this problem. Since the resume is a web page, or a link, then when the employer “clicks” on the link, the link then “opens” providing the electronic resume. Also, employers are presumably “impressed” with the prospective candidate’s computer literacy when they receive an electronic resume. One of the important skills mentioned by most employers is “computer literacy” or “computer skills”, and an “electronic resume” will further demonstrate a candidate’s computer literacy, or computer skills.
