What is the advantages of metric system over the English system?
While the above has some merit it should be noted that the answerer is obviously bias and pompous. There is no measurement system that uses a king’s foot as a basis for anything. The measurement foot is as standard as the measurement meter is. In addition please note that fractions and decimals can be used in either system. Note also that it is ridiculous for a metric ton to always be equal to a cubic meter. Surely a cubic meter of bricks should not have the same weight as a cubic meter of feathers. Finally, while it is true that some people do find it easier to work with decimals, it is also true that some people enjoy being idiots. Base ten systems assume that we all count everything on our fingers and are not capable of abstraction. Frankly I find them offensive to people who have lost a finger.
